Long Weekend Edition!
Featured Spotlight Issue No.2!
Hello my lovely watchers and friends! Thank you for stopping by.
This is the second of many journal spotlights with the intention to
bring attention to aspiring artists and undiscovered deviants, shining
light on the diamonds in the rough of the the DA community.
I've only a few watchers, but I love each and every one of them.
As a gift back to you guys, I'll be featuring my watchers within
each journal - if nothing else please take a look at their galleries
and don't be shy to give a watch!
My featured watchers! KingThomas has a plethora of different styles and talents in his
work, moving from traditional pencil drawing to cell shading to
logotypes. Check out his work, it might give you some cool ideas
QuesoGr7 is going places, I can promise you that. Even a quick look
at his profile will show his incredible talent, and just like his tag-
line says, I'm sure it will just keep getting better!
Lasha2D hasn't been around much lately, but his gallery still remains-
filled to the brim with excellent ink drawings and some lovely
paintings. He draws anime characters in a lovely style.
And now for the best part....
THE DEVIANT SPOTLIGHTS
To begin we'll take a look at an established comic producer:
(Aka. Sam Logan)
Sam Logan is an incredible artist who just can't be stopped.
He has been producing comics for his popular comic Sam & Fuzzy
for twelve years, and has come to create a truly incredible
world involving ninjas, robots, gangster gerbils and more.
His grey-scale style is superb, an art practiced over years and
adapted perfectly to his characters. That has not stopped him
from doing hundreds of fan-requested pictures in traditional color
with markers and ink - vibrant and unmistakably done in his unique
and inspiring style.
Despite the popularity of his long running web-comic, his DeviantArt
account is nearly untouched with under 300 watchers. If you love
comics, large story arcs and enjoy really anything awesome, I highly
recommend checking out his gallery or his website here.
Following the theme of black ink:
Awashing has a talented hand - his skill with pen and paper
is wonderful. The works of art in his gallery are instantly
recognized by his unique and powerful style, a hyper-real
approach with exaggerated features.
Along with a bold style using black ink, Awashing uses
paint, colored pencil and digital mediums to color his work.
Within his gallery is more than enough evidence to put him
in a class above the average artist, attributed to his
relentless power in his technique and the consistency
of his artwork. Check him out!
And that concludes the spotlight, there are many more to come!
